众院少数党领袖佩洛西敦促川普Trump跟习近平谈人权

美国国会众议院少数党领袖南希·佩洛西在川普总统会晤

中国领导人习近平前夕致函川普，敦促他向习近平提及

中国人权问题，以支持那些因为自己的宗教和政治信仰

遭到迫害的人。

佩洛希在信中说，国家和经济安全问题固然重要，但人权

是与中国这样的国家建立公平贸易关系不可分割的一部分，

这些国家剥削本国劳工，在劳工方面还有其它不公平做法，

并扼杀自由言论和不同意见。

这位众议院民主党领袖写道：“尊重中国人权在国会得到

两党强烈支持。自从天安门事件后，中国恶劣的人权纪录

一直受到关注。在习主席领导下，人权纪录恶化了。”

Respect for Chinese human rights in Congress has 

received strong support from both parties. Since 

the Tiananmen incident, China's harsh human rights 

record has been a concern. Under the leadership of 

the President, the human rights record has deteriorated.

佩洛希说：“我相信，总统先生，如果我们出于商业利益

而不在中国人权问题上大声和明确发言，我们会失去在

世界任何地方为人权而仗义执言的道德权威。”I believe 

that Mr. President, if we speak out loud and clear 

on the issue of human rights in China, we will lose 

the moral authority to speak for human rights 

anywhere in the world.
